14 BEAUTIFUL PICTURES THAT WILL MAKE YOU WANT TO VISIT SOUTH ICELAND: MANDY'S PHOTO DIARY
In 2016 I surprised Phil with tickets to Iceland for his 30th birthday. We couldn't go on his birthday because I dragged him to my friends wedding (which was a blast by the way), so we booked for November. I picked him up at 4am on his way back from Nepal, and 6 hours later we were on route to one of the coolest destinations in the world. Iceland really does look "other-worldly" and you can see it's beauty in my film, above. We were fortunate to catch many locations before the busses of tourists arrived, but mostly, this was a trip for Phil and I to reconnect after he had been travelling for over 2 months.
We had hope to see the Northern lights, but alas we arrived on the week which was to hold a record for the most rainfall in November for Iceland and we never saw them. The rain also really limited what we could shoot (as my camera equipment kept getting destroyed and needed to dry out. That said, I see got some beautiful pictures of Iceland, and can't wait to go back some time soon for more. Check out my other blog post on South Iceland to see what activities we got up to and how we did Iceland on a low budget - it is still the most expensive place I have ever visited in my life.
These are my results from 2016 and these are my firsts attempts travel photography. I can see my pictures have come a long way since I shot them, and it has me itching to visit this beautiful country again.
